Castilleja chromosa
Family: Scrophulariaceae
Distribution: Throughout the Great Basin from Oregon to
New Mexico. It occurs in San Juan County, New Mexico as far south
as the Bisti area.
Discussion: Castilleja chromosa is the most common paintbrush
throughout the low country of southeastern Utah and western Colorado and is one of
the most common paintbrush species in northern San Juan County, New Mexico. It
is not a rare plant.
