Remarks
This species is considered rare in Rare Plants of Texas (Poole et al. 2007). In Texas it is known only from Presidio County. In New Mexico, it is known from two specimens collected in Catron County. There are 27 specimens in Arizona herbaria collected from six southeastern Arizona counties. It is known in Mexico from the states of Chihuahua, Sonora, Durango, Sinaloa, and Baja California Sur. This species occupies wetland habitats that are scattered in desert mountain ranges in the southwestern United States and northwestern Mexico. It is too abundant and widespread to be considered rare by NMRPTC criteria.
